The Nintendo Wii U is the sixth home video game console made by Nintendo to be released internationally. It is Nintendo's first console to feature high definition graphics outputting at 1080p. The Wii U is backwards compatible with all Nintendo Wii games and is able to emulate a Wii itself, thus allowing access to all Wii Virtual Console and WiiWare titles. Upon launch, it was available in a standard white version, as well as a deluxe black version and was the only eight generation video game console to ship with an HDMI cable.
