So, the "keys born of water" are literally ice slabs. Go to the lake and either using the frost emmiter located on top of the shelving unit, or an arrow and some ice fruit, create slabs of ice. The first one will be the correct size for the far left. The next two you have to use a flame emitter, also located where the frost emmiter was, to shrink the ice cubes down.
