Nintendo is Considering Getting Into the Movie Making Business

Yes, you read that title correctly. According to an interview with Asahi Shimbun, a popular magazine in Japan, Nintendo is tossing around the idea of making movies. Don’t get too excited, as nothing has been confirmed yet. Although, Tatsumi Kimishima, the current president of Nintendo, did say that they would like to have the first movie ready within a time limit of two or three years. He also said that he would like much of the movie making to be in-house, which, depending on your opinion of the Super Mario Brothers movie, could be a good thing.
Nintendo has so many franchises under their belt who knows which one they would choose for their Hollywood debut. Obviously, we would love to see a Zelda movie, but things are still so far into the beginning stages that we have no idea yet what they would pick. We don’t even know for sure if such a thing will actually happen, but news has certainly sparked some fans curiosities.
