Heart Containers
This guide will show you where the locations of all of the Heart Containers in the Legend of Zelda.

Heart Containers
  - There is a total of 16 Heart Containers you can collect in the Legend of Zelda. You start the game with 3, and you are rewarded with one from every boss you defeat that give you a Piece of Triforce.

  - You can also locate 5 secret Heart Containers that this guide will help you locate, as they can be extremely useful when starting out. Most of them can be collected shortly after the beginning of the game.

~ First Quest ~

Click on the Hearts to be taken to that location.

Location #1
  - Most likely the first hidden Heart Container you'll find, as it's pretty easy to find and isn't far from the start screen.

  - From start, head right four, but you will need the bombs for this one, which can be easily found by heading right four more screens and purchasing them.
Required:

Location #2
  - This is another easy find, but it's further from the start screen and the journey could be tough for new players to the game.

- From start, head right four, up five, and right one. Blast the right side of to large rock to reveal this location.
Required:

Location #3
  - This is one requires the Blue Candle, which can be purchased from many stores, but the Red Candle works just fine, and perhaps better.

- From start, head right one, up three, and left one. Burn the fifth bush from the right to reveal a staircase.
Required:

Location #4
  - This one can only be gotten after the Raft has been found, which is well into the game, so you probably won't get this one very early on, but you will need it to get this Heart Container.

- From start, head right eight, up four and use the raft to head up once more.
Required:

Location #5
  - This one is also pretty well into the game to snag, so you won't get this on your first shopping spree. The Stepladder is about halfway through the game, so it won't be very early on.

- From start, head right eight, and up two. Use the stepladder to climb to it.
Required:

~ Second Quest ~

Click on the Hearts to be taken to that location.

Location #1
  - This one can be got from the very begining of the game, but is pretty hard to get to if you aren't prepared for the enemies near.

  - From start, head up one, left five, up one and down on the left side, left one, through the Lost Woods and up four.
Required:

Location #2
  - Most likely this is the first one you'll find, as it's the easiest to reach, and the Whistle isn't in a very difficult dungeon.

- From start, head right four, up four, and left one. Use the whistle to reveal the hidden staircase.
Required:

Location #3
  - This one is extremely hard to get to as, it's very far and the enemies nearby are very difficult to kill or even avoid. We highly recommend the stepladder for the journey there.

- From start, head right one, up five, left one, up one, cross the river, and up one, and finally right one. Play the whistle to reveal the staircase.
Required:

Location #4
  - This one is the same as the first quest and isn't too difficult to get to, so long as you have the raft already.

- From start, head right eight, up four and use the raft to head up once more.
Required:

Location #5
  - This one is also the same in the first quest, but you'll need the stepladder before trying to get it.

- From start, head right eight, and up two. Use the stepladder to climb to it.
Required:
