"A two-handed sword issued to the Hyrulean royal family's immediate guard detail. Its powerful strikes are said to crush an opponent's body and resolve alike."
The Royal Claymore is a two-handed sword found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.
Breath of the Wild
Royal Claymore is part of the Royal equipment set, which includes a one-handed sword, a polearm, a bow, and a shield. It has a base power of 52 and durability of 40. The Royal Claymore has an elegant design, featuring a golden cross-guard, a grip wrapped with purple ribbon, and many other decorations. Cosmetically, it is similar to the Royal Guard's Claymore, with differences being the choice of colors, and while the Royal Claymore has a weaker attack, it's more durable and easily found than its counterpart.
The Royal Claymore is relatively numerous in Hyrule in spite of being such a mighty weapon, and it's among the best and most reliable two-handed weapons in the game; even with its numbers, it's the least frequently found among the Royal weapons. It can often be found hanging from the necks of Black Hinoxes, alongside other Royal weapons.
Age of Calamity
Royal Claymores are King Rhoam's highest-rank and signature weapon from Age of Calamity, superseding the Soldier's Claymores and Knight's Claymores he also uses.
Tears of the Kingdom
"A large sword, now decayed, issued to the royal family's guard. It's tuned for skilled users and yields a powerful flurry rush during a perfect dodge."
Royal Claymores are most commonly found in a decayed state due to the effects of the Upheaval. It has a base power of 14.
