The Goron Mines is the second Dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It is located close to the top of Death Mountain, and most of it is actually inside the mountain. Because it is inside the mountain (which is also an active volcano), much of it is filled with lava and fire. Link is searching the Goron Mines in hope of finding the second Fused Shadow. He is told it is in there by the Light Spirit Eldin.

This dungeon houses three of the four Goron Elders. Link is told by Gor Coron that the three elders in the mines hold the three Key Shards, which when combined create the key to the room that Darbus has been locked into. Link travels through the dungeon looking for the three elders. After he finds the second elder, he is told that he needs the Goron Treasure to get to the room Darbus is being hold in. He meets the gaurdian of the treasure, Dangoro, and fights for the right to get the treasure. He wins, and collects the Hero's Bow. He uses the Hero's Bow to find the final Goron Elder. He combines the shards and opens the door to the room where Darbus lies. He will soon find not Darbus, but the dungeon Boss, Fyrus.

Enemies

Here are all the enemies found within the Goron Mines.

Fire Toadpoli

Torch Slug

Bulblin

Dodongo

Fire Keese

Tektite

Beamos

Bulblin Archer

Water Toadpoli

Dangoro

The Mini-boss of the Goron Mines is Dangoro. He is the guardian of the Hero's Bow which lies in the Goron Mines. The battle is quite easy. It takes place on a platform that floats atop lava. The platform is metallic. The battle starts with Link on one side of the platform and Dangoro on the other. Equip the Iron Boots and wait for Dangoro to come to Link. Once he does, he will raise his arm as if he is going to hit Link. Hit his stomach with Link's sword a few times. He will go into a ball, so grab him and throw him into the lava. Repeat this two more times. Dangoro will be surprised at a human's strength. He then will grant Link entrance to where the Hero's Bow lies.

Twilit Igniter: Fyrus

The Boss of the Goron Mines is Twilit Igniter: Fyrus. He is a giant figure that has a firey body. He will wake up and free himself from his shackles as Link enters the area. The boss battle has begun. Run to the other side of the room and equip the Hero's Bow. Aim at the shiny orb on his forehead and release. He will be stunned; giving Link an opportunity to take him down. Grab the end of the chain that is attached to Fyrus' leg and equip the Iron Boots. Walk in the opposite direction Fyrus is walking. This will cause Fyrus to fall down, giving Link an opportunity to attack the orb. Run to his forehead and hit the orb with a Jump Attack and a Spin Attack. Repeat tne process again, drabging him down and then attacking the orb with a Jump and Spin Attack. Drag him down one more time and you will see Finish A appear as Link stands next to the orb. Press the button and watch Fyrus die. Fyrus will fall to the ground and the Fused Shadow will explode out of him. After Link has collected it, he will witness Fyrus become Darbus.

Dungeon Items

The Goron Mines feature the main four Dungeon Items that every Dungeon in Twilight Princess has; the Dungeon Map, the Compass, the Big Key, and Small Keys.

Dungeon Map

The Dungeon Map is used to show Link exactly how the dungeon is laid out. It comes in handy if Link ever gets lost while in a dungeon. The Dungeon Map can be found in the first Goron Elders' room. After collecting the first Key Shard from Gor Amoto, Link will be able to see a chest beside Gor Amoto. Open the chest for the Dungeon Map.

Compass

The Compass is used to show Link the location of each and every Treasure Chest found in the dungeon as well as the location of the Boss. It is found in one of the first couple of rooms after the room with the Hero's Bow in it. The room is full of Beamos. The Compass is behind one of the Beamos in a chest.

Big Key

The Big Key is used to open the door that leads to the dungeon boss, Fyrus. It has been spilt into three pieces by the Goron Elders. Each Goron Elder that is in the mines has a piece, so Link must travel to each one and get the pieces. After collecting all three pieces, Link can combine them to create the Big Key.

Small Keys

There are three Small Keys found throughout the Goron Mines. They are all used to open certain locked doors that block Link's path through the dungeon. They are all found in a Treasure Chest.

Treasure Chests

There are seventeen Treasure Chests found in the Goron Mines. They contain a variety of stuff, including Rupees, Dungeon Items, Pieces of Heart, and Equipment.

Rupees

There are plenty of chests that contain rupees in the Goron Mines, nine to be exact. Two of these chests contain Yellow Rupees, which are worth 10 rupees. Three of the chests contain a Red Rupee, which is worth 20 Rupees. The remaining chests located in the Goron Mines contain a single Purple Rupee, which is worth 50 Rupees. Combine these rupees with the ones Link will scoop up from barrels or from enemies, is it likely Link's Wallet will be full before the end of the Dungeon. Using Ooccoo and Ooccoo Jr.to leave and spend some Rupees is recommended.

Dungeon Items

Of the four Dungeon Items, three of them are found in Treasure Chests. The Dungeon Map is, the Compass is, and the Small Keys are. The Big Key is the only one that is not found in a Treasure Chest.

Pieces of Heart

As with every other Dungeon in Twilight Princess, Link can find two Pieces of Heart in the Goron Mines. For details on their respective locations, go to this page.

Equipment

There is a single Treasure Chest in the Goron Mines that contains equipment. It contains the Hero's Bow, the Dungeon Item. It is located in the room directly after the Mini-boss room.
