The Armos Knight is an overworld mini-boss in Link's Awakening.[1] It can be found within the Southern Face Shrine, where it protects the Face Key.
Battle
When Link first enters the room with the Armos Knight, he remains motionless until Link approaches him. The Armos Knight jumps and pounds the ground, temporarily stunning Link in the process. To avoid being stunned, Link should use the Roc's Feather to jump and avoid the shock from the ground pound. The Armos Knight also attacks Link by running toward him.
Link can use his Sword to attack the Armos Knight, utilizing the Spin Attack. This can be difficult as Link must get up close with the Armos Knight and risks taking damage. The easier method of fighting the Armos Knight is to use the Bow. Link can keep a safe distance from the Armos Knight and repeatedly shoot Arrows toward him.
After the Armos Knight has taken some damage, its shield begins to crumble. After a few more hits, the helmet of the Armos Knight also crumbles. After losing some of its armor, the Armos Knight moves a bit faster.
Reward
After defeating the Armos Knight, Link acquires the Face Key, the item required to enter the sixth dungeon, the Face Shrine. Link also finds a mural that reveals a secret about the Wind Fish.
