The Beetle is a recurring enemy in The Legend of Zelda series. They are small bugs that are found crawling out of holes in certain games.

Appearances

Link's Awakening

These small bugs that are found crawling out of holes in Ukuku Prairie. They only appearing on one screen, south of Kanalet Castle. They appear from a hole in the ground when Link gets close. They are very easy enemies to handle, and can be defeated with a single sword swipe. They will endlessly continue appearing from the hole until you leave this screen.

Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons

In the Oracle games, the Beetle appears when Link digs a hole using the shovel and it does quite little damage to Link. In Oracle of Seasons, the mini-boss of Snake's Remains, Facade will causes Beetles to fall from the ceiling, which damage Link if he touches one. One attack with your sword is enough to do away with them.

The Minish Cap

Beetles appear beneath bushes, rocks and pots along your journey, as well as within patches of dirt that are destroyed with the Mole Mitts. They are also spawned in the battle with Mazaal. They will jump up and stick to Link. When Beetles grab hold of Link, you cannot swing your sword and you will move noticeably slower with them on you. Press B repeatedly to throw them off. To kill a Beetle, just slash it with your sword.

There are two variations of beetle in this game. The Red Beetles appear beneath bushes and the Grey Beetles appear beneath rocks.
