The Stasis Rune allows Link to freeze objects in time, rendering them immobile for a short period of time. While suspended in time, the object will possess a glowing, yellow filter. Chains will also appear when the object is initially suspended to keep it in place; however, these disappear after a short time. After the Stasis effect wears off, the object will revert back to normal and move as it was before being frozen.
The frozen object will store any kinetic energy that applies to it. Strong impacts, such as attacks from Link's weapons, will cause the object to store the kinetic energy and move when time resumes: An arrow will extend from the object to show the direction, and as the object accumulates more energy, the arrow becomes longer and the object fades from yellow to red, indicating the strength of the resulting movement. Using this, Link can move even the heaviest of objects, using this in ways such as stopping incoming obstacles, or standing on objects with lots of accumulated energy to ride them as they go flying.

Stasis can be used to freeze dangerous objects such as boulders in pass, which will allow Link to bypass them or use them to block further obstacles. After using the Rune, a timer gauge will appear which must be restored before Link can use the ability again.
Link can upgrade this Rune to Stasis+ at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, for the cost of three Ancient Cores. The upgraded Rune can freeze enemies in addition to inanimate objects, enabling Link to freely whale on them. When the Rune deactivates, the frozen enemy takes all accumulated damage at once and is sent flying based on the kinetic energy accumulated. However, frozen enemies are immune to being burned, frozen, or electrocuted, and stronger enemies will break free from the Rune's effects much faster.

While suspended, objects will store any additional kinetic energy that is added to them. Link can attack the object with a weapon to added kinetic energy; this will cause the object to suddenly shoot off when time resumes. A yellow arrow will appear after an object is struck to indicate the direction it will move in.
In addition to these effects, Link can simply activate the Rune to passively identify all applicable objects: This will include enemies if the upgrade is obtained, and can tell dormant Guardians from deactivated ones, making Stasis+ an effective scouting tool.

Stop the flow of time for an object

"Stop the flow of time for an object. Stops an object in time while storing its kinetic energy. The stored energy will act upon the object when the flow of time resumes. Making good use of the stored energy can move even the largest of objects."

Stasis is a Rune ability for the Sheikah Slate in Breath of the Wild. It enables Link to freeze an object's flow of time, during which time he can apply kinetic energy to move it.

Location and uses

Stasis is unlocked using the Guidance Stone in the Owa Daim Shrine. When using it, a bright yellow overlay covers the environment, with all inanimate objects in the area being highlighted in yellow. If an applicable object is being aimed at, it will turn lime green and can be targeted. Pressing A to use the Rune will have Link summon several holographic yellow chains that attach to the target before fading away, giving it a yellow glow and freezing it in time. The object will remain frozen for up to 10 seconds, going on a 10-second cooldown afterwards. Link can unfreeze the object early by targeting it again, which will result in a shorter cooldown.

In addition to these effects, Link can simply activate the Rune to passively identify all applicable objects: This will include enemies if the upgrade is obtained, and can tell dormant Guardians from deactivated ones, making Stasis+ an effective scouting tool.

Other appearances

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

In Age of Calamity, Stasis is unlocked alongside Magnesis after clearing Road to the Ancient Lab, and can be used by any warrior.
