Gleeok (Disambiguation)
Gleeok is a recurring Boss in The Legend of Zelda series. It has appeared in three games, and in each is a multi-headed dragon that shoots fireballs at Link. The number of heads it has has gone from two to four.
Appearances
The Legend of Zelda
Gleeok appears three times in The Legend of Zelda, the first time being as the final Bbss of the fourth dungeon of the game, The Snake. This variation of Gleeok has two heads. The only way to kill Gleeok is two destroy each of its heads, in this case two. After Link has destroyed each head, Gleeok will die and Link will have the opportunity to obtain the fourth Triforce Shard, which Gleeok was guarding.
The second appearance of Gleeok takes place in the sixth dungeon of the game, The Dragon. This time, Gleeok is the Mini-Boss of the dungeon, not the boss. This battle is exactly the same as the previous one, the only difference being that this variation has three heads instead of two, making it slightly more difficult. After Link has defeated Gleeok, he can continue travelling through the dungeon.
The third and final appearance of Gleeok happens in the eighth dungeon of the game, The Lion. This time, Gleeok is again the boss of the dungeon, and is also again guarding a Triforce Shard. This battle is much harder than the previous two, as now Gleeok has four heads that must be killed to order for Link to claim victory. After killing Gleeok, the path to the final Triforce Shard opens up.
Oracle of Seasons
Gleeok is the boss of the seventh dungeon, Explorer's Crypt. He is a two-headed dragon. In the first phase of the battle, you have to sever both of his heads. The easiest way to do this is to charge a spin attack while using the Roc's Cape to jump the flames that he shoots, and then try to hit both heads at once. Once the first head is detached, it will fly around the room and attack you while you focus on your efforts on the second head. If you do not sever the second head quickly enough, the first head will reattach and you will have to start over again. After both heads are destroyed, Gleeok will turn into a skeleton. His skeleton will attack by jumping, which will make the ground shake and freeze you for a few seconds, and then charging at you. For this phase, you must use the Roc's cape in order to be off the ground when he stomps to avoid being paralyzed. You can then move out of his way at slash at him until he is defeated. His skeleton will take about 10 hits from the sword.
The Minish Cap
- Main article: Gleerok
A different version of Gleeok appears in The Minish Cap, known as the Gleerok.
Phantom Hourglass
Gleeok is the boss of the Temple of Ice. It has two heads, one which is fire-based and one which is ice-based. Link must use the Grappling Hook to bounce fireballs at the ice head and iceballs at the fire head. Once their masks break, Link must grapple each head towards him and attack with his sword.
