Sorelia (wife)

Tye is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Tye can be found in the Finra Woods with his wife Sorelia, who are being attacked by Bokoblins. Tye wields a Traveler's Sword and a Fisherman's Shield. The two of them are in search of a Silent Princess flower as Tye believes that finding one will lead to him having a charmed life.[1]

Tye wanted to travel out on his own but his wife insisted that the two stay together. Tye was confident that he could protect himself, but he seems unsure that he can also protect his wife.[2] Despite this, Tye is set on making sure nothing happens to Sorelia.[3]

Sorelia is concerned that she is just being a burden to her husband, but feels it will all be worth it if they find a Silent Princess.[4] Tye reassures Sorelia that she has not been a burden and that he couldn't be happier to travel the countryside with her.[5] Sorelia blushes when hearing this, referring to Tye as the light of her heart.[6]

Tye can also be found over at the Ebara Forest, where he is once again ambushed, this time by a Blue Bokoblin and Black Bokoblin.[7][8] If Link saves Tye from the monsters, he will reward Link with a Sneaky Meat Pie meal.[9]

Tears of the Kingdom

Tye can be found at the Riverside Stable where he is often standing and talking to himself. He tells stories of The Master Sword, and how it's not just a fabled sword, but one that is actually a fact. He knows it is in the woods, but doesn't seem to remember the exact location.[10] He is startled when he realizes that Link was eavesdropping.[11]

Tye believes that he is the chosen when capable of wielding the Master Sword. He left his wife at Lakeside Stable to journey to the woods to get the sword. He claims not to have time for eavesdroppers like Link. He wants to hurry to find the sword so that he can return and protect his dear wife.[12][13] He repeatedly refers to the woods as the something-something woods, not knowing the actual location where the sword is.[14]

The chosen one isn't an eavesdropper. He is an eave that is perfectly fine with being dropped in on. Me, I mean. Ah, let me share this openly... Some days ago, I bid farewell to my dear wife, Sorelia, to set out from Lakeside Stable. I find myself now at this stable, but the something-something woods that I seek is still far away. So, forgive me if I have no more time for eavesdroppers. I have to find the legendary sword to protect my dear wife." — Tye, Tears of the Kingdom
