The Sand Rod is originally unavailable, because [[Osfala]] has rented it from [[Ravio]]. However, after [[Link (A Link Between Worlds)|Link]] rescues Osfala from [[Thieves' Hideout]], it becomes available to purchase. When Link brings 10 [[Maiamai]]s to [[Mother Maiamai]] and owns the Sand Rod, he has the opportunity to upgrade it into the Nice Sand Rod. The Nice Sand Rod will create sand pillars like the normal Sand Rod. However, the pillars of sand from the Nice Sand Rod will not collapse until the Rod is used again. | |||
