Rare Chu are, as the name suggests, very rare. Wherever other [[Chu]]s are found in the game, there is a possibility that a Rare Chu can appear. However, there are a few locations where a Rare Chu always appears, including just south of the [[Great Hylian Bridge]], as well as within the [[Cave of Ordeals]]. While also rare, when they appear with other Chu, if they merge with any color, the large chu will take the form of the other colored chu.

When defeated, a Rare Chu will leave behind some [[Rare Chu Jelly]]. This Jelly works nearly identical as [[Great Fairy's Tears]], which will fill Link's health, as well temporarily double his attack power.
