Link is a young boy from the land of Hyrule who is fated to save the world and become the Legendary Hero. It all began one day as Link was traveling across his homeland and began hearing a voice calling out to him. Following the voice took Link deep inside of Hyrule Castle, where he found the Triforce resting on a pedestal. "Accept our quest, hero!", the Triforce said to Link, and transported him to the land of Holodrum. There, he fell into a forest where he was discovered by a girl wearing red.

When Link finally awoke, he followed the sounds of music to a nearby group of people who claimed to be a traveling troupe of performers. Alongside them was Din the dancer, the girl who found Link in the forest. Link began to dance with Din to the music of the troupe when suddenly, lightning began to strike all around them. The troupe was sent flying about as whirlwinds lifted them into the air. Then, a larger whirlwind lifted Din, calling her the "Oracle of Seasons", and took her away.

After speaking with Impa, who had claimed to be amongst the traveling troupe but later revealed herself as Princess Zelda's nursemaid, Link discovered that Din was really the Oracle of Seasons. As such, she could control and change the various seasons at her discretion. Link also is told that by the mark of the Triforce on his hand, he was the one destined to save Din, who had been captured by the evil General Onox, thus sending the seasons into chaos throughout the land of Holodrum. Impa then sent Link to visit the Maku Tree in Horon Village, where he was then informed that he must travel throughout the land, collect the Eight Essences of Nature to restore the Maku Tree's former power, and defeat Onox to ultimately save Din and her homeland of Holodrum.

After completing his adventures in both Labrynna and Holodrum, Link finds out that the cause of Veran and Onox's mischief was the result of a bigger plan devised by the witches Koume and Kotake - a plan to resurrect the evil king Ganon. The actions of Veran and Onox caused the flames of Sorrow and Destruction to be lit. In an attempt to light the third and final flame for their ritual, Twinrova kidnaps Princess Zelda herself to be used as a sacrifice. Although Link is able to defeat Twinrova and save Zelda from the ritual, he cannot stop the resurrection of Ganon, as Twinrova ends up sacrificing their own body as a vessel for the evil king.

The resulting incarnation of Ganon lacks much intelligent thought, though he does show knowledge of who he is. Still, Ganon proves to be the toughest obstacle that Link will have to overcome if he is to restore peace to the world and take his destined place in history as the Legendary Hero.

Din first appears as a dancer, known throughout the land of Holodrum for her great talent. She finds Link unconscious in a forest where her and her traveling troupe of performers were playing music and dancing. Shortly after Link awakens, a series of events lead to the malicious General Onox taking Din captive. It is then revealed that Din is actually the Oracle of Seasons, who can control the seasons at will.

When Onox takes Din captive, the seasons of Holodrum are sent into chaos, changing so rapidly that no inhabitant can go on about their regular lives. By causing so much distress amongst the people, Onox's plan ultimately adds one piece to a much larger puzzle devised by the witches Koume and Kotake, collectively known as Twinrova. Pulling Onox from the Dark Realm and using him to cause such troubles, Twinrova can successfully light the Flame of Destruction, one of three needed to complete their evil ritual to revive the Evil King Ganon. Because Link is destined to be the Legendary Hero, only he can save the Oracle of Seasons from Onox's clutches.

Bipin is an expert arborist and knows everything about growing Gasha Trees. He is obviously a descendant of Pippin, a man of roughly the same profession and resemblance who lives in Lynna Village in the past.

Upon first meeting Link, Bipin is excited to inform him of his newborn son. Blossom, Bipin's wife, will give Link the honor of being able to suggest a name for the newborn baby, which Bipin will like no matter what is chosen. Afterwards, Bipin will give Link a Gasha Seed. Throughout his quest, Link can go to Bipin for much advice on planting Gasha Seeds.

After Link saves Labrynna, Bipin and his family will move to Holodrum. Once Link arrives there, he can pick up where he left off and continue to help with their child's growth.

Blossom is the wife of Bipin and mother to a newborn baby. She asks Link to suggest a name for her son. Whichever name Link chooses is what Blossom will agree upon and call the child thereafter.

When Link stops by to visit the family throughout his journey, he will be asked by Blossom to help the child in different ways. Sometimes, Blossom will ask Link for some rupees to help her son. Other times, she will simply ask advice to solve some problem the child is having. Link's donations and suggestions to Blossom will eventually affect the type of person the child grows up to be.

After Link saves Labrynna, Blossom and her family will move to Holodrum. Once Link arrives there, he can pick up where he left off and continue to help with their child's growth.

The Captain has no known name, other than his title as captain of the group of pirates known as the Piratians. It is revealed that the Captain was actually the lost love of Queen Ambi, who she was trying to find by building the Black Tower in the past. Apparently, the Captain and his crew have somehow became a group of living skeletons since then.

The Captain and his band of pirates are found stuck in the Sea of No Return. With a mass of whirlpools blocking the way, the Captain's ship is unable to sail out of this area. It is only until Link gives the Captain the Zora Scale that he and his crew are able to escape. Afterwards, the Captain will state that he is off to the land of Holodrum. However, if Link has already been to Holodrum (thus already meeting the Piratians there), the Captain will simply sail away to parts unknown.

Maple, the young apprentice witch to her grandmother, Syrup, spends most of her time flying about Holodrum on her broom. Link will encounter Maple many times throughout his journey, most often after defeating a certain number of enemies.

Maple is known to carry an assortment of rare items, such as Rings, Gasha Seeds, and Potions. However, she most often carries more common items, such as rupees, pieces of heart, bombs, and different kinds of seeds. If Link is to encounter Maple, he can attempt to obtain some of her items by running into her flight path and knocking them out of her bag. The resulting collision will also scatter a few of Link's own items about, however. Each time this happens, Maple and Link will race to collect all the items lying around. Over time, Maple will appear with improved forms of transportation (a vacuum cleaner and later a flying saucer) that will help her to gather dropped items quicker.

After Link goes to Holodrum, his journeys in Labrynna complete, he can find Mamamu Yan's Mother in Spool Swamp, located in the western portion of the land. Her mother will tell Link a secret to take back to Mamamu Yan in Labrynna. Revealing this secret to her will result in Mamamu Yan asking Link to find her dog, who is running around in a random location in Lynna City. If Link successfully finds her dog and returns him, Mamamu Yan will give Link a ring that, when appraised, becomes the Snowshoe Ring. Wearing this ring will prevent Link from sliding on frozen floors.
