The '''House by the Bay''' is a location in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening|Link's Awakening]]''. It is an abandoned cottage on the coast of [[Martha's Bay]]. It is the former home of a [[Ghost]] who follows [[Link (A Link to the Past)#Link's Awakening|Link shortly after his completion of [[Angler's Tunnel]], begging him to take it back there.{{Ref|LA|497|Ghost}} When the Ghost does return, it is overcome by nostalgia before asking to return to its grave.{{Ref|LA|500|Ghost}}{{Ref|LA|501|Ghost}} It is a dim, decrepit old house, with many cracked floors that will break if Link stands on them for too long and a torch that can be lit with [[Magic Powder]]. After returning the Ghost to its grave in [[Koholint Prairie]], it tells Link that a [[Secret Seashell]] can be found within one of the pots inside the hut.{{Ref|LA|502|Ghost}}
