Once [[Link]] obtains the first [[Eight Instruments of the Sirens|Instrument of the Sirens]], the [[Eight Instruments of the Sirens#Full Moon Cello|Full Moon Cello]], from [[Tail Cave]] and returns to Mabe Village, he is informed by the [[Island Quadruplets]] that BowWow has recently been dognapped by the [[Moblin|henchmen]] of the [[King Moblin]].<ref>{{Cite|LADX|621|Island Quadruplets}}</ref> If Link talks to Madam MeowMeow, she will frantically beg for Link to rescue BowWow.<ref>{{Cite|LADX|388|Madam MeowMeow}}</ref> Link soon finds out that the King Moblin and his gang are hiding in [[Moblin Hideout]], a cave located in the [[Tal Tal Heights]] region.<ref>{{Cite|LADX|405|Ulrira}}</ref> Thus, Link travels to the hideout. The Moblins will then attack Link since of his suspicious look.<ref>{{Cite|LADX|482|Moblin}}</ref> Nevertheless, Link defeats the henchmen and marches forth through their hideout to save BowWow. Once entering the room, the King Moblin will recognize Link is there to save BowWow and will attack Link.<ref>{{Cite|LADX|483|King Moblin}}</ref> Once Link defeats the King Moblin, the room where BowWow is being held prisoner will be revealed. Link will untie BowWow's chain from the rock and will return to Mabe Village to bring back BowWow to Madam MeowMeow.<ref>{{Cite|LADX|446|In-game Description}}</ref> Full of gratitude, she will ask Link to take BowWow for a walk around Koholint Island.<ref>{{Cite|LADX|389|Madam MeowMeow}}</ref> While talking a walk with Link, BowWow can be used to eat most enemies in Link's way. In order for Link to obtain the second Instrument of the Sirens, he should walk with BowWow to Goponga Swamp where BowWow can eat the Goponga Flowers blocking the entrance to [[Bottle Grotto]], the second dungeon in ''Link's Awakening''. Although BowWow can be walked with Link in most places on Koholint Island, he cannot be taken into dungeons. In the [[The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX|DX version]] of the game, there is a picture for Link's [[Photo Album]] of BowWow.
