I don't particularly enjoy dubstep, but there are a couple of songs that I do like. I would probably like it more if I listened to it more regularly, but at this point, I've only ever heard it when other people play it.
I enjoy it and it does require skill (all music does) but I prefer me some guitar solos, breakdown, and bass drops. Dubstep can do the last two and I like it but I like rock more.
Fun fact here...Skrillex (AKA Sonny John Moore) was actually the former singer of a post-hardcore group called From First To Last. He quite when he damaged his vocal chords from using an improper screaming technique. So he does get some inspiration from his previous style but he doesn't do it any more.
I attempted making a thread about this earlier but it seems it never worked out. I was basically comparing Zelda soundtracks to Dubstep remixed Zelda sound tracks and seeing which people liked what better. Here are the following link to the Dubstep songs if anyone would like to check them out.
Hey Koosholts! I love the stuff done by Ephixa although I'm not quite sure that I classify him as dubstep. I don't blame you cause he labeled himself but I do think that he's slightly mistaken. I'd say maybe more like electronica or techno. However those songs are good so whatever floats your boat.
also here's a comparison between "Sonny" John Moore in From First To Last and as Skrillex. See my above post for more details.
