The '''Fairy Islands''' are a series of islands in the [[Great Sea]] in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker|The Wind Waker]]''. Each of the islands is shaped like a heart, but the hearts are all facing different directions. On every Fairy Island is a conch shell-like structure in the middle, and the islands themselves seem small and empty. If [[Link]] enters the structure in the middle, however, he enters what seems like a whole new world. The walls seem like falling raindrops, and there is a monument with a little bit of water in a quiet, serene room decorated with seashells. When Link walks towards the fountain, he notices a small, blonde fairy alone in the middle. That fairy looks at Link, spins around a few times, then explodes in a blast of magic energy and transforms into a [[Great Fairy]]. Each Great Fairy on all of the Fairy Islands looks the same, and each gives Link some upgrade to him that will help him on his adventure.
