Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Sunshine?

I actually haven't played them both through to the end, but I got tired of playing Sunshine as it was boring to me, and from what I've played on Galaxy I love it, but I just don't have that much time to really play it.

I like the two Galaxies about the same, and they both beat Super Mario After I played Sunshine, I didn't need a Sunshine 2. But after Galaxy 1 and 2, I feel like I need a Galaxy 3.

I think we need a true sequel to Galaxy 1. Galaxy 2 pretty much somehow made a split.

How exactly did Galaxy 2 make a split? Because it perfectly meshed 2D and 3D platforming? Because it didn't feature as many gravity puzzles and spherical levels? Because it introduced Yoshi into the subseries?

It went back in time before galaxy and remade the events of galaxy 1. Don't ask me how, though.

The Mario games are very loosely connected in story as is. Galaxy didn't need to connect to Sunshine or 64 story wise. The "2" part of Galaxy 2 was solely meant to represent a sequel in terms of ideas, not story.

A sequel story-wise would be nice, though. And a few are connected such as the Mario+Luigi Saga. But almost all of them are not.

I don't wish to derail this topic, however, the Mario role playing games are completely different beasts from his platforming adventures. One is a genre where you pick up and play whereas the other is known for greater depth.

I love both games very much.
Maybe Galaxy by a little bit more?
But I did like Sunshine's concept a whole lot.
I can't choose. :c

I personally pefer Sunshine, just because of the setting and gameplay.

They are both great games, but I think I like Super Mario Galaxy more, though I've had a lot of good memories with Super Mario Sunshine.
