I would say you should definitely give Link's Awakening a try. I do think Marin is a better character than ALttP Zelda, because she showed some depth to her character. It stems mostly from one scene and can be easily overlooked as nothing by other fans, but I saw depth to it because I felt that I could identify with her feelings and thoughts on a deeper level than one might expect. But aside from Marin, Link's Awakening is just a wonderful game on its own that is absolutely worth it to be played.

I love this image for its panoramic heart-soothing, soft-washing serenity, although it is tinged with a soft hint of sadness. I see a lot of myself in Marin, especially in this image, which is why I chose it as my avatar to slightly represent me.
