Ocarina of Time
After meeting Princess Zelda at the Castle Courtyard, she gives Link a letter with her autograph signed on it as a royal decree. Link can show it to the Death Mountain Trail Gatekeeper in Kakariko Village to be allowed entry into Death Mountain Trail.

In Ocarina of Time, Zelda will hand over Link her letter in the Castle Courtyard in order for Link to show it for the guard in Kakariko Village. After Link defeated the boss Queen Gohma, Link got the message from the Great Deku Tree that he will depart out of the forest to Hyrule Field and go find Zelda and listen to her. When Link departs to the courtyard, they talk and Zelda will give Link her letter. When Link proceeds to the guard in Kakariko Village and show Zelda's Letter with her autograph signed on it for him, he will let Link trespass the Death Mountain.
