The Elder tells Link that he must find the 4 elements if he wishes to reforge the picori blade. The elements are crystalline forms of Earth, Fire, Wind and Water. With these elements infused with the blade, its power shall return. The first element, Earth is located in a sanctuary north of the village. This is Links first port of call. Fighting his way through the hordes of enemies now in the sanctuary, Link reaches the first element. However, his path is block by a [[Green Chu]]. An easy battle if you weren't the size of the picori, which Link still is. After an intense battle, the creature is defeated and link gains the first element. Link then returns to the elder.
