Lost Woods is a location in Breath of the Wild. It surrounds the Korok Forest, and together they form the Great Hyrule Forest. Most of the woods are off-limits, with only a certain path available for travel. If Link goes off of the proper path, he will become enveloped in the surrounding fog and returned to the woods' entrance.

While the paths through the woods are often marked in different ways (the main way being the direction the fire on the pillars are blowing), Link can always navigate the woods by keeping an eye out for banks of fog closing in on Link's position. As soon as the fog begins to envelop Link, reverse direction and backtrack a few meters. With care, there should be plenty of time to avoid fading completely to white. Carrying a lit torch will also point the way, if one pays attention to the flame's direction.

The Lost Woods surround Korok Forest, and together they form the Great Hyrule Forest. Most of the woods are off-limits, with only a certain path available for travel. If Link goes off of the proper path, he will become enveloped in the surrounding fog and returned to the woods' entrance. Said fog permanently obscures the woods with its haze regardless of the time of day.

On successfully navigating through the Lost Woods, Link will enter the Korok Forest, which contains the Pedestal of the Master Sword with the Master Sword itself, some Shrine Quests, and a shrine.

As soon as the fog begins to envelop Link, reverse direction and backtrack a few meters. With care, there should be plenty of time to avoid fading completely to white. Carrying a lit torch will also point the way if one pays attention to the flame's direction, though the same result can be achieved by looking at Link from above and following the direction of the floating pollen carried by the wind.

In order to avoid traversing the Lost Woods to get to the Korok Forest, it's recommended that Keo Ruug Shrine's travel gate is activated.

Trivia
[[File:Horse-at-the-Korok-Forest.jpg|thumb|250px|
Link with Epona in Korok Forest.
]]
*As shown in the picture, horses can traverse the Lost Woods as long as they follow Link when they're called upon. It's not recommended to ride the horse while having a lit torch or wooden weapon while traversing the Woods, as Link lowers it when riding, which sets the grass afire. If one chooses to have Link ride the horse, it's recommended to use the wind blowing the wisps method disclosed before.
*There are sections of the Woods where Link won't be taken by the mist; these allow Link to find chests, particularly those close to the road to Korok Forest. The easiest way to find these chests is by having taken pictures of chests for the Hyrule Compendium while having the Sheikah Sensor + activated looking for them.
