In ''A Link to the Past'', Lake Hylia contains many enemies like [[River Zora]]. This lake is the [[Light World]] counterpart of the [[Ice Lake]] in the [[Dark World]].

==''Ocarina of Time''==

Lake Hylia lies southwest of [[Hyrule Field]]. Link can get there for the first time as a child either through [[Hyrule Field]] or through the tunnel which connects the Lake and [[Zora's Domain]]. [[Ruto's Letter]] is in the shallow water near the tunnel. As an adult, the lake has been drained. The [[Water Temple (Ocarina of Time)|Water Temple]] lies under the [[Triforce Pedestal]] island in the middle of the lake, and defeating [[Morpha]] restores the water level in the lake.

Other points of interest include the [[Fishing Pond]], [[Lakeside Laboratory]] and the twin [[scarecrow]]s [[Pierre]] and [[Bonooru]].

Lake Hylia is the first stage in [[Whereabouts of the Wind]], and in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures|Four Swords Adventures]]''. It serves primarily as a tutorial stage for the game, introducing Link to various combat styles, items, and other aspects of the game. It is filled with much scenery, including trees, rivers, waterfalls and caves. Link meets [[Kaepora Gaebora]] for the first time early in the stage, as well as [[Tingle]] later on. After obtaining and using various items to navigate the Lake, Link must defeat a group of [[Soldier]]s and their Leader, [[Chief Soldier]]. Afterwards, Link must break the [[Eye Barrier]]s at the end of the level, allowing him access to the [[Cave of No Return]].

Lake Hylia is one of the areas of Hyrule and houses the fourth dungeon of the game, the [[Temple of Droplets]]. The Temple holds the third element, the [[Four Elements#Water Element|Water Element]].

[[Stockwell's House]], [[Mayor Hagen's Lakeside Cabin]], [[David Jr.]] and [[Waveblade]] are located by the lake, while the [[Witch's Hut]] can initially only be accessed through the lake region.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess|Twilight Princess]]'', Lake Hylia can be found in the southern part of the [[Lanayru Province]]. The [[Great Bridge of Hylia]] passes above the lake and leads into the center of the province. [[Fyer]] is located here with his [[Human-Cannonball Ride]]. [[Link (Four Swords Adventures)|Link]] can pay him for an [[Oasis Flight]] up to the [[Gerudo Desert]] or a normal flight up onto [[Falbi|Falbi's]] house where Link can play the mini-game [[Falbi's Flight-by-Fowl]] or just pass through the house to reach the [[Great Bridge of Hylia]].

When first encountered the Lake is corrupted with [[Twilight]] and almost dried out, however, once Link collects all the [[Tears of Light]] and unfreezes [[Zora's Domain]], the Lake is filled with water and restored from Twilight.

Lake Hylia is a large body of water in the south-eastern part of [[Hyrule]]. The dungeon containing the [[Pendant of Wisdom]], the [[House of Gales]], is positioned on an island in the centre, along with a [[Weather Vane]].

 

[[Mother Maiamai]] lives in a cave to the north-west of the lake.
