When Calamity Ganon emerges from Hyrule Castle, its sends four Blight Ganons to the Divine Beasts in order to corrupt them and kill their pilots. Daruk is stuck inside Divine Beast Vah Rudania when he is attacked by Fireblight Ganon, and he fights back, and he ends up using Daruk's Protection often refusing to back down. Eventually Fireblight Ganon slams hard onto Daruk's forcefield which shatters it and stuns Daruk which renders him in a helpless state as it proceeds to throw a large fiery rock at him. Before he could be struck down, the Gate of Time from Terrako appears and Yunobo comes out and uses a similar barrier to block the lethal blow, much to Daruk's surprise that another Goron can use his power, but Yunobo assures him that he is there to help. As Fireblight Ganon intimidates them, Yunobo starts trembling until Daruk stands between them to return the favor as he reminded the young Goron to stay calm. Yunobo's support to Daruk has brought enough time for Link and his friends to arrive, and with their combined efforts, Fireblight Ganon is annihilated, having failed to take Daruk's life and Vah Rudania.

Later, after the Champions and the Divine Beasts were saved, Astor betrays the Yiga Clan by using the Yiga soldiers as blood sacrifices to revive the Blight Ganons and he sends them after Master Kohga and Sooga in an attempt to do the same thing with them. In The Yiga Clan's Retreat Guardian of Remembrance DLC Scenario, Fireblight Ganon and its elemental counterparts pursue the Yiga Clan and eventually managed to surround them, but Sooga uses a Yiga technique to immobilize them in order to allow Kohga and the survivors to escape while being left alone with the Blights. What happens to Sooga is currently a mystery.

In the Each Step Like Thunder Scenario, Astor summons Fireblight Ganon and the other blights and pits them against Link, Princess Zelda, and Impa. Link is left to deal with them alone while Impa and Zelda make a run for it, but the latter refuses to let Link die and runs back to protect him which causes her power to surface and stun the Blight Ganons and deactivate the surrounding Guardians. Fireblight Ganon and its elemental counterparts pursue Purah and her allies to prevent them from activating the failsafe, but they are defeated again.

In The Future of Hyrule Scenario, Fireblight Ganon and the other blights appear one last time to stop the warriors from reaching the sanctum, but they are all defeated for good before they head up to Astor, Harbinger Ganon, and eventually Calamity Ganon itself.

Fireblight Ganon's design is somewhat different than it was in Breath of the Wild, with its large sword being a fiery orange and its hair being made of fire rather than standard red hair, making it more threatening. Its boss fight is much more balanced. even when the difficulty is set to Easy.
