But it's not what I want to do. An adult like me should be doing other things like finding a job or something. Not playing games. And it's a hobby I'm trying to stay away from.

Do what you want to do, but do not think adults cannot play games, because we can. Video and/or table top. My table top group's average age is 30. I got my parents into games, and I have no plans to stop gaming no matter how old I get
