Trying to Connect to Xbox Live

Hey Guys!

I'm trying to help my sister connect to Xbox Live through her computer by using an Ethernet cable. I've been watching several Youtube videos, and trying to read through the troubleshoot section on the Xbox's website, yet nothing is working for me! We don't have those adapters that are made for the xbox nor is the router in her room. Our internet is wireless and I think we're set up in a private setting the last time I checked. Can anyone help me? I was following this video earlier and I thought this was the solution, but as she was testing her connection, I realized that maybe the problem was our network being set to private. I really don't know what to do anymore. :/

This isn't meant to start a "PS3 vs XBOX" war, but when it comes to setting up your connection so you can play online; I prefer my PS3. Its quick and simple.

*EDIT- My parents even paid a 1 month membership fee today for LIVE and even that doesn't seem to work.

I remember doing this. It sucked XP
What operating system is it? If you're running windows 7 then all you need to do is enable other devices to use your internet connection via your computer.

I
f you're running XP, it should be slightly more complicated.

I
f it's simply an internet issue, I don't know how to help you. But try the above links and see if they work.
