I chose a bad time to visit Vancouver. I experienced one of the most damaging wind storms to hit the region in modern times.
Trees are down all over the place, over 400,000 people are without power (my sister's place, luckily, is not included in this), and one of the LRT trains was severely damaged after it got hit by a branch, and part of the LRT is closed because a tree fell on it. Even Canada's largest flag was ripped right off it's flagpole. I look outside and see trees on the ground, the nearby park is littered with branches and leaves, bus line ups are longer than I've ever seen them. I knew it was really windy this morning but holy ****, never expected that it was this bad.
EDIT: I just looked ouside and saw a small tree leaning on somebody's house. Doesn't look like there's any noticeable damage though.
