Really Depressing Songs

I'm a big fan of music that either tells a story or is thought provoking/ has something really deep an meaningful to say, one song I always think of when it comes to the latter.

That song is Gods on Fire by Korpiklaani off of the album Korven Kunningas.

This song is very depressing if you know the lyrics(especially verse 2), I won't go into detail why the lyrics are depressing, you have to look at them yourself.

Also Beyond the Dark Sun by Wintersun is pretty depressing, but since the song is more upbeat the Gods on Fire it doesn't seem as depressing.

So those are two songs that I find to be depressing, but that doesn't mean the're not good, Beyond the Dark Sun is one of my favorite songs by my favorite band(Wintersun) and Gods of Fire I think is one of the best songs ever written, and I'm curios as to what songs other people find depressing, so if you know any songs that are depressing, please post them I am really curios.

I love depressing songs, I find them beautiful and sometimes it's just good to sit down and feel whatever emotions the songs invoke in you

My favourite depressing song is actually one that a friend and I argued over what the meaning was, because she called it a break-up song, while I clearly envision a story of a couple where one of them is hurt from some kind of accident and they don't know how to say goodbye, let go, knowing that they are about to be separated by death. I envision one holding onto the other, not ready to lose them, while the one who is dying wants the other to be able to move on, live out their life.

When I think of depressing songs, the first song that comes to mind is Virtute the Cat Explains Her Departure.

There are actually two songs about her – this and A Plea from a Cat Named Virtute. What makes this song so sad is that in A Plea, it's so upbeat and cheerful and we hear how she really wants her owner to overcome his depression and is willing to host something of a little party for him. However, when the next album rolled around, we find out that she's now on the street, reminiscing over the good times she had but is unable to remember her name. Opens the floodgates for me every time I hear it.

They Might Be Giants - They'll Need a Crane. Despite being relatively upbeat, the lyrics are pretty depressing. In fact, a lot of their songs are like that; Really depressing lyrics set to a happy tune. I'm not sure if this is even their most depressing song, this is just the one that came to mind.
