I need to look into it more, but I'm pretty sure the El Camino is just a Chevelle with a different body design from the front seat back.

ALSO,,, I THINK THE NAME EL CAMINO IS A PUN.

El Camino means "the way" in Spanish, so it's a cool little name, but truck in Spanish is camión, so there's some sort of wordplay there idk exactly what.

What's really interesting is, the Suburban is built on the Silverado platform, and back int he late 90s, it looked the exact same:

This carried on for the next styling, but by the mid 2000s, they had changed it up slightly:

You can tell that they're similar but not exact copies anymore. I kinda wanna keep going on this but I still need to be looking at the El Camino.

Ok so apparently the 1959 El Camino was a thing, and holy crap this is so wild, it's got that flashy 50s style of car design but it's also got a truck bed

It's like someone put a truck bed on an Impala

Ok so here's the 1971 year model El Camino and Chevelle, these do have the same front end

They don't look entirely unlike the Monte Carlo from 1971 either

Ok I'm done with car pictures now I'm gonna go to bed at 11 instead of midnight what a healthy sleep schedule.
