For awhile now i've thought that Kokiri forest from OoT and Hyrule Town theme from TMC sound pretty similar. Maybe if Hyrule town theme was sped up a bit.
Am i just hearing weird? lol

You're right. They do sound really close. I would venture to say that Hyrule Town is a variation on the theme from Kokiri Forest. Part sounds the same, but a different rhythm, and then part is completely different.

Maybe they just liked the tune and found a way to keep it somewhat but also make it different.

YEAHHH! u r soo right! well you know nintendo. they composer a piece a music and they vary it in soo many ways. take groose's theme for an example. you got the normal theme, embarrassed theme, grooseland theme, heroic groose and groosenator...*soo many 0.o*

Nice! yeah they're definitely the same song, just a few tweaks here and there

it may just be the same tune, only in a remixed version.
I never really pay close attention to what music sounds the same or not.

It's quite possible that the mousic is based off of the Kokiri Forest music. After all, Outset Island from the Wind Waker does something similiar.
