[Hero of Time]

Hello! This is my thread for my songs and poetry!(as if you didn't know already) I hope to update this consistently, we'll see. I have both a song and a poem for you today. First up is this poem:

And here is the song. It's written a bit Avenged Sevenfold style:

I liked the song. Although I couldn't hear music I could imagine it. I also liked the poem, although it was short.

The poem was alright, but it wasn't much more than length limitations. But for its length, it was good.

Your song was also good.

This didn't rhyme, seeing as though you used the same world. Try this:

I hear your voice inside my head
My arrogance taking its toll
I say I won't do your deeds
But it's out of my control

I feel your cold breath crawl on my spine
Controlling my every move
You break my bones, my heart, my mind
As you control my every move

The third verse, I loved. The second verse was a bit short, though. However, it did allow the third verse to work its magic. If you added one more syllable, it would have been alright. Just something simple like this:

You're controlling my mind

Now, you're doing this like a song, so rhymes do need to be right, unlike with normal poetry. You once again didn't rhyme, and yet you really couldn't in this situation.

It was overall good, though.

Alright folks, I write another song. This one is somewhat of a rap, similar to and inspired "Stan" by Eminem. Although if you don't like rap, you can imagine it another way.

This is not something that has happened
More like something I'm afraid will happen

I decided to post one of my raps (since it's actually appropriate for the site). I'm pretty proud of it, considering it's all factual. It's about something that happened a year and a half ago. The verses are rapped and the chorus is sung. Enjoy!^^

[Hero of Time]

This thread was on a bit of a hiatus, as you can see. But now I hope to revive it and post in here often since I write rhymes all the time.

This is a poem I wrote. I had most of it written a month or two ago and finished it up today. Enjoy~

"Hummingbird of Eternity"

I ask why do I live today?
I would give all my dreams away
Because we all have a price to pay
To find the one that will stay
And you better tell the ones you know
Because I'm never gonna let you go
We could last an eternity
I would spend forever, just her and me

I was sitting on the edge of tomorrow
Living in a bottle of sorrow
Wondering if my pain
Was for anybody's gain
And I came to a realization
I was waiting in anticipation
Anticipating her and me
She's the one that will set me free

I wake up in the pouring rain
And look outside my window pane
A hummingbird comes and goes
Like a flower on a dying rose
And that's why I'm not absurd
When I say that she's my hummingbird
She comes back each and every day
Just so she can go away

I ask why do I live today?
I would give all my dreams away
Because we all have a price to pay
To find the one that will stay
And you better tell the ones you know
Because I'm never gonna let you go

I hate to double post again, but I've been itching to post some more song lyrics I've written.

This is the first song. Partially based off a girl I used to be in love with, and partially just my imagination.

This song is inspired by a particular musical piece titled "Snuff" by Slipknot. The similarities are probably very apparent since I listened to that song the entire time I wrote these lyrics. But anyways, I'm very fond of the progression that occurs in the chorus of this piece I have written. It is somewhat depressing, though, but I suppose most of my songs are. So, here it is:

This thread seems rather lonely with no comments. I thoroughly enjoyed your last piece although it wasn't my favorite. Nevertheless it goes full circle and your use of repetition, Hero of Time, is great. I've always been more inclined towards writing prose narratives and I therefore admire your efforts at poetry. Your love for rap certainly has shaped a great writer.

It's very interesting that your latest song that you posted has no chorus. I rarely find artists these days that do that, and yet with the message you send with these lyrics, the 'no chorus' vibe goes along very well with it!

I say keep going. These are great, and if you choose to aspire in this, these words and more can get you far! ^^
