Gerudo in Twilight Princess?

Anything could have happened to the Gerudo. The obvious theories are stated. They were banished to the Twilight, they died out, or they moved to another region.

It is more likely that they were either banished or the true Gerudo died out. I say true Gerudo because Telma does indeed look like she's part Gerudo, but not full Gerudo. If they were banished, then that might be why the sages attempted to send Ganondork to the Twilight. So he could be with his people. The true Gerudos might have died out but they certainly have decendents in TP.

As for the people that say the Boblins must've killed the Gerudos off, they kicked your butt in OoT and MM, those chicks are tough. There is absolutely no way the pathetic Boblins could've taken them out even with the help of some of Ganondork's magic.

Thanks to the official timeline from Hyrule Historia, we know that the Gerudo reappears on the CT in FSA, some time after TP. Thus we have this scenario:

OOT - The Gerudo lives in Gerudo's Fortress.
TP - The Gerudo Desert is empty.
FSA - The Gerudo lives in Desert of Doubt and there is no Gerudo Desert.

Assuming that there is only one Gerudo tribe and that the Desert of Doubt is not Gerudo Desert, then the answer seems quite obvious: The Gerudo moved from Gerudo's Fortress and moved to the Desert of Doubt some time before TP.

As for the Twili and the Gerudo: The official timeline confirms that the sealing of the Dark Interlopers happened a long time before OoT, so the Interlopers needed to have been distant cousins to the Gerudo if the Twili are to originallly have belonged to that tribe. Nevertheless, the Twili would later not have had anything to do with the Gerudo of Hyrule (or Termina, for that matter). Moreover, it was rather apparent earlier as well that the Gerudo of OoT could not have interacted with the Twili since the "Interloper War" must have happened before the Temple of Time seal was erected (for the Sacred Realm got sealed after the creation of that seal), an event which took place long before OoT.
