 Much like in ''Four Swords'', Zelda senses something wrong with the Four Sword's seal, so she goes with Link and 7 maidens to find out what happened. But then, Zelda and the maidens disappeared and [[Dark Link]] appears. Link takes the only weapon nearby, the Four Sword, and he splits into 4, but Vaati escapes and sends Link flying. The game is about Link saving the maidens and Zelda to stop Vaati.

-Zelda is Link's childhood whom he has a crush on. Zelda takes Link to the [[Picori Festival]], where she wins a shield and gives it to Link for protection. They go to an award ceremony where the winner is Vaati. But it turns out he's evil and breaks the [[Picori Sword]] and releases all the spirits sealed away. He later turns Zelda into stone, and Link needs to revive her with a fixed Picori Sword. After fighting Vaati a few times, Link revives Zelda with the new Four Swords.

Thus Link sets out on a quest to find a way to save Zelda.
+Vaati was in fact searching after the mystic Light Force. After the Picori Blade has been forged into the Four Sword, Link discovers that the Light Force actually resides inside Zelda herself! Vaati had followed Link, and starts to drain the light force from Zelda. Link of course managed to save Zelda just in time and they try to flee from the Castle where she was held. But Vaati had absorbed enough power to transform into a monster and tries to kill them. Link seals Vaati away and his cap, which is in fact a very powerful cap that is able to grant wishes, falls off. Ezlo, a cursed picori who helped Link on his Quest, gives the cap to Zelda. Zelda makes her wish, and with her pure heart the entirety of Hyrule is purged of all the trouble that Vaati caused.
