Like other Gleeoks, King Gleeok will flap its large wings to push Link away and prevent him from getting too close to it, and attack with all three heads spitting a lightning, ice and fire beam at the same time either on the ground or while hovering in the air, which can be parried away. There is no specific recommended armor to wear to minimize damage against a King Gleeok, it is merely recommended that comes equipped with as high defense as possible, either by cooking a defense boosting meal or by wearing the fully upgraded [[Champion's Leathers]], which provide 32 defense, and a fully upgraded head and legs armor piece that provide 28 defense, such as the Zonaite Shin Guards and the Diamond Circlet, providing the highest possible defense of 88. Additionally, sets such as the Fierce Diety Set and the Barbarian Set can help make it easier to whittle down a King Gleeok's health.

All three heads have their own small health pool while they are active and will have to all be taken out in order to knock King Gleeok to the ground for a window to deal significant damage, with crit damage dealt with every blow to the Gleeok's heads. When the King Gleeok is near death, it will fly up to an immense height from the ground, where the Thunder and Frost heads will combine their attacks to create both an ice storm and a lightning storm upon Link; making traversal up to the King Gleeok's altitude much more difficult as he will often rain down an icicle as Link ascends the updraft from the lightning strike, or strike lightning upon an icicle Link has rewinded with Recall. Following this combo of attacks, the Gleeok's flame head will then charge up and release a massive, raging ball of flame, which Link can then use to ride the wind up with the paraglider until he is level with the altitude of King Gleeok before the ice and lightning storm restarts. From there, Link can fire arrows at the three heads to knock the Gleeok back to the ground, which it will take a large hit of damage from falling at such a large height. This will either outright defeat King Gleeok, or leave it at a small enough amount of remaining health that Link can easily finish it off. When defeated, King Gleeok will drop one [[Gleeok Thunder Horn]], one [[Gleeok Frost Horn]], one [[Gleeok Flame Horn]], [[Gleeok Wing]]s, and almost always the valuable [[Gleeok Guts]].
