The Adventure of Link
In The Adventure of Link, Link encounters Armored Stalfos beginning in the Island Place. Their behavior is generally identical to their Stalfos counterparts though they take more damage to kill and hit harder with their swords. Unlike Iron Knuckles or Lizalfos, they cannot move their shields Link must quickly squat and slash his sword to deal damage.

Armored Stalfos are found in several palaces, and are stronger than regular Stalfos. They carry a shield, and wear helmet and armor, which makes it even harder to attack them. They are very agile and have an immense amount of skill when it comes to stabbing.
Red Armored Stalfos
Red Armored Stalfos charge Link and swing their swords at close range. When defeated, they yield 50 experience.

Like the regular Stalfos; they come in two variations, red and blue. The red ones attack simply by swinging their sword at Link. But, the blue ones like to jump around and down-thrust in mid jump. Both types can be defeated by a sword slash.
Blue Armored Stalfos
Blue Armored Stalfos also attack by swinging a sword but in addition will leap at Link and perform a Downward Thrust. A slain Blue Stalfos earns Link 70 experience.
