The '''Hover Boots''' are one of the boots Link can use in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time|Ocarina of Time]]''. They are used in the [[Shadow Temple]] and allow [[Link]] to hover for a few seconds in the air when he walks off a ledge.{{Ref|OoT|89|In-Game Description}}{{Ref|''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D|Ocarina of Time 3D]]''|Strange boots that float just off the ground. They allow you to walk on air, though only briefly.|Item Screen Description}} However, they have no traction and Link thus slides on land while using them, making them impractical for regular use. They can be obtained by defeating a [[Dead Hand]] as an adult in the Shadow Temple, after which a treasure chest appears containing the boots.

They can also be used in the [[Haunted Wasteland]] to avoid sinking into the sand. Another common strategy is to use them in the [[Bongo Bongo]] boss fight, but they aren't a necessity to defeat that boss.
