it is imposible to have a split timeline because zelda says @ the end of Oot when the master sword is returned to its pedistal the road between times will be closed the only posibility to cancel this would be in tp or Alttp when link puls out the master sword please post if this makes sence

Um...no. What Zelda meant was that Link could no longer travel to that future; he would have to live through his own, new future. That doesn't mean that the two realities can't exist separately. They just can't coexist, because they're alternate realities. Plus, it's been confirmed, so arguing against it is pointless.

She said that of the MS, not the door of time? Interesting. Someone remind me of the function of the door. Either way, that statement affirms the split. When Link used the MS normally he was travelling back and forth on the same timeline. When Zelda finally sends Link back to his childhood, she closes the path between the [her] past and the present so any changes Link causes in the past no longer affect her present. Instead, the changes create a new future for Link, aka a new timeline.

There is always a split timeline they could do as many as they want because the way time works is every action has a consequence and has a different result so really everything that happened in OOT could make a new story about link so its impossible to not have a split timeline
