Cyrus

"A war and you want me? Well I can't say that I'm big on fighting for you, but the pay's always good for MY services so I'll take it."

Cyrus followed the guard out and was handed a pin for rank identification. He had done enough odd jobs on behalf of the government that he had status as a specialist. Still, he wasn't going to try and work anyone over yet. He stole and they didn't know that, and it was going to stay that way.

Cyrus had known this would come. He had a bag packed with supplies and rations slung over his shoulder. The chill in the grey winter sky made him shiver a bit but he left his jacket open anyway, revealing the tattoos on his chest and stomach.

The town courtyard was crowed with soldiers and people alike, mostly men being forced into service. Cyrus learned long ago that it wasn't worth it fighting what the government wanted. They'd get it anyway, given enough time. "Course that doesn't mean I couldn't topple them myself," he muttered, "Or at least not me but you can, right Silver Fang?"

"Yes. Course I can."

"I thought so," he said out loud.

He sat down on a vacant bench and pulled his bandanna down, despite the biting wind on his face. Cyrus liked the cold. It made him feel alive, and existent. He adjusted the patch over his right eye, making sure it didn't move. "No need to come out now Silver Fang. The time will come later," he said.

"As long as I get to slit some throats Cyrus"

"Of course."

Dantay:

"There, your done," Takaya said in a dreary voice.

Datay knew that voice, but he wasn't going to take her sulking.

"Look, I want to go, and there isn't anything you can do to change my mind. So stop sulking," He said, slinging the pack over his shoulders.

"But, what if you-"

"I'm not going to die Takaya. I promise to come back in one piece when the war is over. If I don't, you can kill me."

Takaya laughed a little at that, but still looked sad. She folowed Dantay to the door, but stopped when he reached for it.

"Can I come with you to the boat?" She asked, looking down.

"Do you know what they'll do if they see you there?"

"Yes, but-"

"If you cover your hair you can come."

Takaya's face lit up. She smiled and ran up the stairs, hurrying to get a bandanna.

Sheesh, women...

He opened the door and walked out, almost falling over a boy. It was a kid he'd known around town, but not very well. Elliot was his name he thought.

"Waht happened?" Takaya asked, coming out.

"Oh, I found Elliot," Dantay said. "He must have been runing from the military."

"Well we have to wake him up!"

Takaya ran over and lightly slapped Elliot's face. Soon he came to conceousness.

"Are you kay?" She asked.

Narrator:

Most of the soldiers had come back with men, and there were only a few yet to come. A woman in a raggady cloak was walking in the land where the Elves dwelled near town. She had her face covered, and she walked up to Mizuki.

"Do you wish to go somewhere?" The woman asked in a scratchy voice.

 

[blue-eyes]

"No," Elliot replied, trying to stand up. He got to his feet, shaking. He fell again but caught himself on the wall. He put his hand to the back of his head. He looked at his hand. It was covered in blood.

The girl continued to cry and mumbled the words: "You won't..."

Lance rolled his eyes, he had told his sister the plan for when the soldiers came to their house to remain calm and say 'there are no men here'. Lance figured one of these days the soldiers would find him but all he wanted was just a bit longer with his sister... just so he'd feel she would be safe. He let out a silent sigh and accidentally bumped his head against the top of the hidden door he immediately froze, hoping the soldier didn't hear that.

Narrator:

"Shh, it's okay," The soldier kindly said to the girl, petting her hair.

Suddenly he heard a noise from the floor. It sounded like someone was underneath. The soldier went over to the area and tapped on the floor. He tapped in several different places, feeling for an empty sound. He found that underneath the rug was hollow, and he felt around for a latch. When he found it, he hesitated in pulling. He really hated it when he had to take men and boys by force, but other soldiers would come within a few months and punish him for forgetting a soldier.

He pulled up the latch.

Takaya:

"Oh my gosh! Were you runing from the soldiers?" She asked, holding him up.

Lance quickly punched the soldier in the face, and leaped out of the hideaway. "You won't take me! Grace, out the back, NOW!"

Lance's sister, Grace, quickly fled out the backway out of their house and yelled back, "I'll see you soon brother! I love you."

Lance quiet voiced back, "I love you too..." Lance sighed, closed his eyed and spoke to the soldier, "As much as I don't want to fight for a useless cause... there is no avoiding it. You soldiers would have found me eventually... just promise me this... my sister will be safe, agreed?"

(I might as well give him up, lol. ...and Grace was never seen again... DUN DUN DUUUNNNN!)

Narrator:

He was caught by surprise when the boy had hit him in the face, but he did not retalliate. Instead, he was holding back, and would tell his supirior officer that the boy was too strong. But the boy surprised him, when he stopped and gave himself up.

What are you doing? You have a little sister! He thought.

"Y-yes, agreed," He said, shocked. "Come with me."

He led the boy out of his house, regretting that the little girl would now be left alone.

Lance followed the soldier, hanging his head low, but other than that he showed no signs of sadness. On the inside, he felt horrible for leaving his sister alone, but he had no choice. Eventually more soldiers would have come to his door. Sure, Lance could have taken out the one soldier that had come, but more than that... maybe not. He kept his hand on his scabbard, hoping they would allow him to use his own sword in the war, because now it was the only thing he had left of home.

(I should seriously consider writing sad stories... )

Everything was still shaky. "Y-Yes, I was- I was running," He said. "Can you l-let go n-now?" He asked her.

 

[Musicfan]

( fakeing insanity dose not work ow) he quickly stood up and sat down on the floor. (Gess im going to be as much of an annoyance as possible ) he stood up and gave a fake smile.

Cyrus

Cyrus saw a depressed looking boy being led into the town center. He was was tall, with blue eyes, and a scar on one side of his face. He looked only a couple years younger than Cyrus. Cyrus decided to introduce himself to this boy. "Surely he's heard of me in the legends!" he thought, his ego brimming.

"Hi," Cyrus said to the boy. "My name is Cyrus Larkson, but I also go by Silver Fang. And you are?"

Narrator:

"You are supposed to be going to the boat with the others," The sodlier esscorting Lance said to Cyrus.

He grabbed Cyrus's arm and pushed him forward.

Dantay:

"Well good luck hiding," Dantay said to Elliot. "As for me I'm off to the boat."

Takaya:

"Oh, um, yeah, you can," Takaya replied to Elliot.

Cyrus

Cyrus stumbled forward a bit. As he, the visor over his right eye loosened a bit and slid over to cover the left side. Before Cyrus could react Silver Fang was out.

"Did you just push me?" he asked in a menacing tone. "You do realize who I am right? The only reason why I'm doing this is because I know that you'll pay me well. So how bout some respect. Maybe then I won't have to explain to your captain why one of his men was eviscerated, got it?"

Lance rolled his eyes at this kid that claimed he was 'Cyrus... Silver Fang?' Lance didn't know the name, he was quite bad with names but he decided to make this cocky fellow shut up a bit, "Yes, yes, we've all heard of the legendary 'Silver Fang'! What was it again? You can kill people lightning fast with that tooth of yours? Or am wrong? I've heard about 6 different versions of your tale." Lance kept his head low, but had a smirk on his face to keep himself from flat out laughing.

(lol, 'tall'... Lance is my shortest character... he's about 5'4, maybe 5'6 if I feel nice, nothing official yet, lol.)

Cyrus

Sliver Fang shifted the visor to cover his right eye, and instantly his personality changed. "Yeah, I'm the Silver Fang," Cyrus said, beaming with child like innocence. "Six different tales huh? Well I new there were a few, but not six. But yes, these are them, the reason I have my name." Cyrus pulled out his daggers. The handles were black as night, not a stain on them. The blades were Pure silver, sharpened finely, and were engraved. One said 'sanguinem' and the other said 'mortem'. "Pretty cool huh? So anyway, what's your name? Did you sign up or were you forced in?"


(*Sanguinem is latin for blood and mortem is latin for death)
