General Zelda Things NPCs Say, That You Might Miss.

Thought I'd make a poll about the "blink and you'll miss it" gems from NPCs. As in, you can play through the game, and since it's not directly story related, you might not get to see it. But if you go around talking to NPCs and happen to talk to that specific one, you won't forget that line. Maybe it's funny, maybe it makes you dawww...whatever.

Here's the ones I remember. If you have one that's not on the list...add it. Might not be word for word...oh, and remember that it MUST BE AN OPTIONAL LINE. So Midna's "am I so beautiful that you have no words left" doesn't count.

Niko: Are you going to be the new swabbie? Yay! That means I won't have to wash the other pirates' dirty underpants anymore! (WW)

Kukiel: The goddess is gone! Do you think she left because she's mad at me for not listening to my mom and dad? (SS)

Random Carpenter: Have you ever dropped the soap? I did once...it was great! (OoT...okay this might not count because I saw it online...)

Grog: People are disgusting. My own mother and father are disgusting. You must be disgusting too. (OoT)

Seriously, this is one of the most memorable lines from OoT for me.

Grog's line is really memorable. So memorable, in fact, that even though I didn't recognize the NPC by name, I knew who he was just by reading that line.

LOL There is no way that is actually in Ocarina of Time.
That seems pretty 'out there' for a Nintendo game. xD

 

[Fraxinus]

The Niko one was glorious. And a lot of the reactions you can get out of the NPCs in Ocarina of Time while wearing masks are also pretty notable. Especially the guys in the House of Skulltula. Though, I'm not sharing those. I'm sharing these. Most of these aren't too easy to miss, but I enjoy them nonetheless. These are more humourous than they are insightful, but whatever.

A Link to the Past
If you try using the Magic Hammer near the forge in the smithies' house, they'll get mad at you and scold you with this: (you can get a similar reaction with the smithy in A Link Between Worlds, but in Hyrule only)

After beating the Forest Temple, when you revisit the past and talk to one of the people in the Market, he'll tell you this: (And... I don't know why but this one makes me laugh every time. Like... just...)

The Wind Waker
To go with Niko's underwear thing, when you first get on the pirate ship, Senza is blocking the entry to Tetra's cabin. If you keep talking to him, he'll tell you about how she inherited the pirate crew from her mother and will close with this:

When Linebeck explains to you how he "injured" himself and stuffs, if you tell him you don't understand, he'll say:

Spirit Tracks
Before escorting Princess Zelda out of Hyrule Castle, if you talk to one of the guards in the barracks, he'll tell you this:

Skyward Sword
If you visit Gondo's house in the nighttime, you can find Scrapper there. If you talk to him, he'll tell you about how awesome Gondo is and closes with this:

If you talk to one of the thieves living in Thieves' Town, he'll literally say "thug lyfe chose me"

Mandy that's a bunch...the only one of those I find the most memorable is Kina's. And then she makes you carry like 5 pumpkins at a time. That mini game made me want to throw the wiimote through the TV so many times...And OH! Mask reactions...apparently if you go to Talon wearing the goron mask, he will say you look like his wife

Well his name is never shown in OoT, he's one of the minor NPCs that only have names because of MM.

I've played this very part of TWW probably at least 20 times in the past and I've never noticed that he said stuff about underwear. Most of the time it was speedruns, mind you, but still.

Talk to him when him and Tetra and Gonzo are on Outset's beach at the beginning, before you have the sword and shield.

 

[DuelMark]

The old lady in Sahasrala's home in A Link Between Worlds. Her line shows that she has some affection for Osfala (eww) and she implies that, like Groose, Osfala has a thing for Zelda, which may be why he's so eager to prove himself the hero Hyrule needs.

Nobody remembers this line from OoT? Don't even know if this NPC has a name. Me and my brother used to call her 'creepy ghost lady'.

I remember that now! That's the poe buyer, there's a theory about him being the little kid in the graveyard who idolized Dampe, it says that Dampe was killed by poes, so he collects them to get revenge or something.
