Breath of the Wild Tarry Town Help

I made a monster cake for the girl in Tarry Town but how do I get her to eat it? She says " I would eat some cake if you have it" but just keeps repeating that and won't take it.

I think you're supposed to give it at night? I'm pretty sure the time of day matters. Try that if you haven't.
