Alright, for those of you who don't really care too much for discussing the technical aspects of the game, Bidou is essentially a style of play discovered several months ago, which can allow human players access to movement and attack options much more quickly than standard play, provided you teach yourself the muscle memory needed to execute this play. For those of you not in the know who want to explore it a little further, a comprehensive video can be found here.
This has the potential to greatly change the metagame for keeps, provided somebody can develop it and get results at a major tournament, and could see a complete revision of the tier list as more powerful moves that may be very punishable (looking at you, Jigglypuff) now have the potential to cancel the ending frames with consistent execution. It's at a very early stage of development with regards to the community as a whole, so time is needed to tell whether it's a game changer or not. Personally, I think practicing a new tech is a much better way to skyrocket a player's tournament results over buying 2 characters who never belonged on the roster in the first place.
Now, a problem aspiring Bidou players need to deal with is the possibility that it gets patched out of the game entirely, not only making it redundant, but potentially throwing away countless hours of practice. What are your thoughts on it, could you see it becoming an integral part of the meta? If so, what do you see Nintendo doing? Buffing characters according to the potential tier list shakeup, or even patching this out of Sm4sh altogether?
