Something Confuses Me About The LoZ Timeline

At the top it says "Heaven and Earth created" then right below that it says Skyward Sword. Does that mean Skyward Sword is at the very beginning of the timeline and nothing can come before that unless we go back to Adam and Eve? Also, on the right it shows the games, but what's the stuff on the left? On the left side of the SS picture it says "The Era of the Goddess Hylia" and "The Sky Era". Does that mean those two eras happened while we were playing SS? Also, what's that line underneath "The Sky Era"? Does that mean it's an era missing from history? Does that mean a new game can fit there?
I just don't know how to read this timeline! :S

Skyward Sword is first on the timeline, but it isn't at all immediately after the creation of what will become Hyrule. There's still room for more games beforehand. The "Era of the Goddess Hylia" is referring to past version of Skyward Sword. I.e. when you travel through the Gate of Time. At this point Hylia has only just abandoned her immortal form. "The Sky Era" is the present events in the game, the portion of time that featured Skyloft.

As for the line, that simply means events occurred that do not relate to the timeline as it stands. There are no games that take place in or reference this point in time (most like the civilisatiion of Hyrule) and so therefore no information was needed on it. They're basically telling you that some time passees between SS and pre-MC but we don't need to know about it. A new game could theoretically fit there assuming they haven't already assigned that portion of the timeline to a specific event.

But that line isn't there in between "The Era of the World's Creation" and "The Era of the Goddess Hylia", doesn't that mean that a new game can't come before SS because the only era before is the beginning of time?

It probably means they aren't planning to, but they have constantly changed many times before. For a long time OoT was the first in the timeline no questions asked, and we all know what happened there.

There was a developer quote somewhere that said something to the effect of "SS is currently the first of the timeline , but not necessarily the first game in the timeline now and forever". Nintendo could possibly make a game that comes before SS, they really could. But at this point SS is the first.

Crap. >_< I am sick and tired of all the prequels. What are they going to do!? Make prequels until they get all the way back to Adam and Eve!?

In fact, they set SS up in such a way as to insinuate that there can be any number of games/stories that come before it. (Demise has appeared in many different forms before.)
