Ocarina of Time OoT, Help, Scarecrow Song Reset?

Hi, So I reached the scarecrow in the 3DS version BEFORE I read the walkthrough....so the "recorded" song is Saria's song. Which means that I am unable to summon Pierre the scarecrow like the game asks me to. Is there a way to "reset" the song? I tried to go back to the scarecrow's as a kid and as an adult. but no luck on my own. Any ideas? or am I screwed and have to reset the game?

You must return to the scarecrow as a child and speak to him. He will repeat the song you currently have stored to you. After he is finished, stand near him and play the tune you want him to save.

done. and went back to the right time and then went to the temple, played the song. and the game said that i played the scarecrow song but the scarecrow didnt show up? i assume im doing something wrong. will just keep trying i guess. thanks for your help!!
