ngl, I still manages to struggle with the fact that people from corners of the world wide web thought that the phrase "not gonna lie" needed an acronym in the first place..

'wtf' KIND OF makes sense since it contains a swear word. (tfw you realize that that is 'that feeling when' and not 'the ****, what')

This could go on and on. But yeah, my answer is 'ngl'. What internet acronym do you find far-fetched or unneccessary?

IIRC, which means "If I recall correctly."

Before I looked it up, because it's often not capitalized, my mind reads it as "irk."

I was gonna say the same thing, I've seen that be used and wasn't even sure if it was an acronym until I looked it up

GFY can be used both as an insult and ironically as a complement

I find this hilarious mostly because you could be telling someone an insult and they interpret it as a complement, or you could be complementing someone and they interpret it as an Insult.
