I mean, I have worked with electronics for a while....
When producing blacks on a screen, CRT's can actually produce the highest contrast between black and color, and if you calibrate them right, you can actually get a true black with a CRT.
LCD's tend to do them well, as do LED's.
It just depends on your specific use case.
According to this image, not just Mexico or Canada is lost, the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans have been overtaken by the hogs.

They do produce the truest blacks (oh no!) Or at least until the advent of OLEDs which are at least close if not better. The point is though, I can still play all of my old consoles on them. Duck Hunt is hooked up right now. Retro consoles were also made for CRTs so the geometry is perfectly rendered. The colors are vibrant, the pixels are sharp, the input lag is non-existent, the weight is...well, heavy. I think my heaviest one is 280lbs. Definitely a two-man job. Plus you get to look like homeboy in the meme.
