A Link to the Past Links Uncle

I was always wondering, what is Link's Uncle's name? Does he have a name? After beating a Link to the Past I still do not remember them ever mentioning his name. In fact in the game, I they just call him "Link's Uncle". I have never read the original manual so I do not know weither or not they state it in there. Or perhaps they mention it in the Japanese version. Does anyone know the answer to this?

I just looked it up. there wasnt a name for him in the game. But they called him alfon in a radio show.

Alfon actually makes sense to me. We know they like to re-use names, and Link's mentor was Alfonso in Spirit Tracks. But no, they never gave him a name in-game.
