Narga looks complicated, I like simplicity in my weapons.

stat-wise, they are the better pick though
high affinity means more crits and high sharpness means less time wasted sharpening

alternatively, you could go for something like the Magnamalo dual blades, which have a nice blast element

fan favorite pick in MH nowadays (as it has been for quite some time) is the long sword
got the length of the great sword, but it's lighter and faster, falls in between and is a great starter weapon

also, it's easily the strongest weapon type in the game.
case in point with speedruns.
