I could be totally off base here but there's a marked difference in 2d and 3d animation and a lot of the animation in spiderverse seems to me to be hand drawn however there was this one spiderman during the intervention scene who is prominently in focus and appears to be a 3d object but animated to look 2d and that just looks awful, it's why the chip and Dale movie doesn't have that same charming look as Roger rabbit does

I should mention I've only heard about these people second hand, it's not common thankfully. The other one I've seen was in a documentary about who knows what, but he spent thousands to look like a lion and he lives unemployed as a cat in some dude's car shop garage
