A few days ago I wanted to try doing my drawings on paper and color them digitally

Not finished yet of course but I started coloring in Ilia’s hair and face

Not only did this scare the crap out of me

Same thing for me

It getting close to the screen while using its bite attack startled me, and that has never happened for me in a Kirby game before. It was disturbing

Make a second layer to line an color it, trust me

i have a separate layer for lineart so i can color underneath it

I should really put more layers in my digital drawings

i need to use fewer layers tbh.. i make a mess

i remember when i did a digital painting in like 2015 and i hecking hit the layer limit which was like 256 layers

I've been messing around with layers a bit
Scratch doesn't have them but I've been using Krita to edit together stuff made in Scratch to make bigger pieces

i had a dream last night that i tried krita out with my tablet on my laptop and the brush dynamics were backwards so the harder i pressed, the thinner the lines were and i was having a crisis

ive been contemplating installing my tablet on my laptop after going through a bit of withdrawal when drawing a flowing skirt fabric and just wanting to SWOOSH and mouse didnt let me SWOOSH so i spent like 2 days getting the SWOOSHES right

i'll think on it more tho. my tablet driver broke the screen saver on windows 8 and i figure that'll be the case on windows 10 too. windows xp never had any issues tho

I wonder if I'd be able to play with shading if I used more layers

i typically have shading and flats as different layers but with my current mouse art, my shading layer is just a copy of the flats layer and i draw on it. the flats are so if i need to make a selection by color, i can do it without shading getting in the way
